What lies beyond a scientific breakthrough?
A new Ynet feature exploring breakthrough research at the Technion also highlights the work of Dr. Asaf Zinger and PhD student Ofri Weizel from the Wolfson Department of Chemical Engineering.
Their research focuses on developing innovative nanoparticles designed to reach cancerous tumors, interact with their surroundings, and release therapeutic agents directly at the tumor site.
The team is studying Triple-Negative Breast Cancer, an aggressive form of cancer with limited treatment options. The research is conducted in collaboration with physicians from Rambam Health Care Campus and aims to advance more precise therapies that could target tumor cells while minimizing damage to healthy tissue. 🧬
This work exemplifies the power of combining chemical engineering, nanotechnology, and medicine to address complex medical challenges and transform laboratory research into solutions with the potential to improve patients’ lives.
