Programs and graduate courses in chemical engineering

Graduate aim is to deepen and broaden basic knowledge in chemical engineering and to develop an increased ability to address the complex issues in a variety of areas of activity of the chemical engineer. Teaching and research faculty cover a broad range of topics such as: phenomena and flow of fluids, actions foundation in chemical engineering, separation processes, petroleum, development of operation and process control engineering, reactors, adsorption and catalysis, engineering polymers and plastics, and biomedical engineering – Chemical and Bio – medical, Bio – physics, environmental engineering, micro – structure and nanotechnology, particle systems, colloidal systems, complex fluids, space effects, processing and ceramic materials – lead, and the study of crystal growth processes in thin layers.
Training programs for Master’s studies and Doctoral studies in complex school and work independently. Studies linked to extensive research activities in areas referred to basic directions and directly applicable alike. The research topics aim to meet the needs of chemical industry, biochemical and micro-electronic, present and future, and research projects carried out by graduate trainees help instill industry approaches and advanced topics.
The population consists of paid “internal” (scholarship recipients) and “external” (workers usually outside the Technion for their livelihood). Most graduate students are recipients of scholarship. Scholarship recipients commit to devote full time to study, research and teaching. However, note that paid the first semester of their studies will be required not necessarily work in teaching. Student non-thesis track payable is not entitled to receive a scholarship.

Master’s degree

There are three program tracks Magister training for the degree:

Master of Science in Chemical Engineering

Training course that includes research, project or thesis, is designed for graduates of degree four or triennial. Outstanding students it is possible to combine first and second degree and complete the two degrees within five years.

Master of Engineering in Chemical Engineering

Training course without submitting a research paper. The program is designed especially for industry, and placed more emphasis on technological and managerial occupations. The program’s goal is to allow engineers to expand industry knowledge in chemical engineering fundamental issues, relevant to their work in professional fields of industry and management issues. The program does not put emphasis on training in research methods and does not include submission of a thesis.

Master of Science

Training course that includes research. The program is intended for students without a background in chemical engineering who wish to study at the faculty research groups, without specific certification as an engineer in chemistry. Derives from this, this pathway does not require the completion of knowledge in chemical engineering.
